Choosing a size

Twelve inches suits a shelf or a narrow wall between doors. Eighteen is the one most people put in a bedroom or a reading corner. Twenty four holds a living room wall on its own, and anything past thirty six is a focal point that wants six feet of clear wall around it. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one. Layered work reads smaller on a wall than it does on a screen.

What layered means here

Each design is eight to ten separate sheets of wood, cut individually and stacked. The depth is physical, so the shadows shift as you walk past it. That is the difference between this and a printed mandala, and it is the reason these photograph badly and look better in person.

How it is made

Over fifteen hundred individual cuts go into a single piece. That is beyond what a hand can hold to tolerance, so the cutting is done by laser, and we would rather say that plainly than let you assume otherwise. Everything after it is a person: sanding through several grits, paint applied by hand one layer at a time, and eight to ten layers aligned by eye. Nine to eleven hours per piece.

Hanging, shipping and warranty

Every piece has a pre drilled hole on the back, so one screw and a wall anchor is all you need. Free express shipping anywhere in the US, seven to fourteen business days. A protective coating holds the colour, and we warrant it eight to ten years against fading, warping or a finish that gives out. Pieces are made to order, so we do not take change of mind returns. If one arrives damaged, send a photo and we replace it.
